As a behavioral scientist, my research focuses on community-engaged approaches that promote the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based strategies to support healthy behaviors across the lifespan.
I conduct epidemiological research exploring behavioral determinants of obesity, cardiometabolic health, and related comorbidities. A core passion of mine is addressing and eliminating health disparities to ensure everyone—regardless of race, ethnicity, or gender—has the opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilling life.
My work bridges scientific inquiry and real-world impact, translating research into practical, equitable solutions for improved health outcomes.

Adolescent obesity is a pressing public health issue, with family involvement recognized as a key factor in successful treatment. However, coordinated care between youth and adult caregivers remains rare.
DYAD PLUS tests a coordinated intervention for adolescent-caregiver dyads simultaneously enrolled in youth (Brenner FIT) and adult (By Design) weight loss clinics.
Study overview:
Randomize 45 dyads into three groups:
Evaluate feasibility, adherence, retention, and implementation costs.
This novel, family-centered approach aims to enhance weight loss outcomes and fill a critical gap in obesity treatment.
Both projects exemplify our commitment to developing scalable, effective interventions that address obesity and promote health equity across diverse populations.
