Dr. Moore is a Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Implementation Science within the Division of Public Health Sciences at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He also holds secondary appointments in the Departments of Epidemiology & Prevention and Family & Community Medicine.

His work centers on community-engaged research, with a strong focus on the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based strategies to promote healthy behaviors across the lifespan. He also leads and collaborates on epidemiological studies exploring the determinants of health behaviors and related comorbidities, such as obesity and chronic disease.

Dr. Moore currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice and sits on the editorial boards of Childhood Obesity, Obesities, the Journal of Healthy Eating & Physical Activity, the Journal of Clinical and Translational Research, and the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Moore has authored or co-authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and has received research funding as principal investigator from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Duke Endowment, and de Beaumont Foundation, among others.

In addition to his research, Dr. Moore is a passionate advocate for justice and inclusion within the scientific community for all people regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, geography, or ideology, and is actively involved in initiatives that support the strengthening and expansion of the public health workforce.
